Gbenga Daniel, Bankole’s Aides, Others Join APC
Scores of politicians from different parties in Ogun State yesterday defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC.The defectors, who included former council chairmen, former party leaders, as well as other  major stakeholders from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and the Peoples Party of Nigeria, PPN, and others, were received by Governor Ibikunle Amosun at a meeting held in Abeokuta.
Principal among the defectors were former House of Representatives member representing Ado- Odo/Ota Federal Constituency in the sixth legislative Assembly, Kunle Salako, former Deputy Speaker of the state 6th legislative Assembly, Tokunbo Oshin, and former Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development in the Otunba Gbenga Daniel administration, Fatai Sowemimo.

Others included the former Chairman of Yewa North Local Government, Bolaji Aaretola, former Media Aide to Daniel, Apostle Tokunbo Fakeye, as well as Chief Kayode Odunaro who was the Special Assistant to the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole.
The defectors explained that Amosun’s sterling performance in education, health, infrastructural development, among others, informed their decision to associate with the governor and APC.
They also disclosed that their meeting with the governor would precede a rally where they would make a public declaration to the party with their teeming supporters. Odunaro described Amosun as a visionary leader who many people might not appreciate his rebuilding efforts in the state now. He said: “Most of his projects are projects that will stand the test of time in the state and be of value for the coming generation.”
Amosun, who could not hide his enthusiasm, welcomed the defectors and urged them to consider themselves as foundational members of APC, who would not be discriminated against in the party
