The PDP is in a state of panic after all attempts to beg Governors Rabiu Kwankwaso and Aliyu Wamakko to leave the APC and return to the party on Monday failed. But what is more troubling now for the party is the latest revelation that few more PDP governors have indicated their interest to decamp to the APC.
"We have taken over as the party with the highest number of lawmakers at the National Assembly. We have 280 legislators out of 360 at the House of Representatives. We already have the two-thirds there....
Vice Chairman, Senate Committee on Education, Senator Sola Adeyeye, made these revelations in Ikirun on Monday while addressing members of the party during his usual empowerment programme.
He said his prediction that the APC would take control of the government at the centre even before the 2015 presidential election had started to come to pass. He said the popularity of the APC had become unstoppable, saying the party would soon become the ruling party in the country.
Senator Adeyeye said, “We already have the majority at the Senate, but we have yet to have the two-thirds there. We will soon accomplish this. Very soon, some governors from the PDP camp will join us. It will be clear to all that the APC has taken over.”
The Senator further suggested that the likes of Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola and other PDP big shots will join the Board of Trustee member and dump the party for good in the next few weeks.
