It was a happy birthday indeed for Kanye West,
who celebrated turning 36 with a star-studded party on Saturday night
in New York City. One face that was notably absent from the festivities,
however? Oh, just the mother of his unborn child.
That's right, West,
who was in town in advance of his performance at the Governors Ball
music festival on Sunday, left his (extremely) pregnant girlfriend, Kim Kardashian, at home — back in Los Angeles.
While Kim
sent Twitter messages of love and devotion to her man, West partied at
the Caribbean-themed hot spot Miss Lily's with Kim's bestie Jonathan Cheban, Scott Disick,
Nas, Jay-Z, and Beyoncé (who took the opportunity to further combat
pregnancy rumors by sporting a sexy midriff-baring top that flashed her
flat, toned abs).
As the A-list crew (presumably) ate, drank, and enjoyed being merry,
Kim tweeted, "Happy Birthday to my best friend, the love of my life, my
soul!!!! I love you beyond words!"
As for West, he seemed to keep his soiree relatively low-key. The
snaps from the evening show everyone looking relaxed and happy. Well,
except for the fact that deep down they must all have been missing Kim …
right?
Granted, the brunette beauty is
too far along in her pregnancy to be allowed to fly, but then why not
have a party in the good ol' City of Angels? Though Kim didn’t seem put
off by being excluded, something tells us she would have preferred to
spend the night by West's side.
Good thing there's always next year!
