Beauty doesn't come easy. Mariah Carey learned that valuable lesson the hard way on the set of her new music video for the Young Jeezy remix to her single "#Beautiful" this weekend. The Grammy Award-winning pop star dislocated her shoulder and was rushed to the hospital.
Carey's spokeswoman, Cindi Berger, told the New York Post
that doctors reset her shoulder and now, "She is fine and is recovering
at home." Like a true pro, Carey is still scheduled to appear at a free
concert in Central Park this Saturday (July 13) hosted by Major League
Baseball to benefit Hurricane Sandy relief. Said another source, "She
will perform, but it is likely she will have her arm in a sling."
Her husband, Nick Cannon, was directing the "#Beautiful" video, in support of her lead single from her forthcoming 14th studio album, The Art of Letting Go.
True to its title, Carey has yet to set a release date, tweeting
recently, "I want to give you this album as it's meant to be heard. When
I'm ready, you'll be the first 2 know!"
The Jeezy version of "#Beautiful" is the third to get a visual
accompaniment. She has also released a video for the Spanish rendition, "Hermosa."
The original version of "#Beautiful" featuring Miguel is currently No. 17 on Billboard's Hot 100.
